Lone Peak Police  had a total of 91 calls for service for the week in Highland and Alpine. This is from 0700 hours on 03/19/2012, until 0700 hours on 03/26/2012. These are some of the many incidents officers responded to. These calls do not include all the incidents officers respond to on a day to day basis.
 
 
Monday 03/19/2012
 
Officers responded to a Highland address on a non injury traffic accident. All information and evidence was gathered, and a traffic accident investigation was conducted. A report was then filed on the incident.
 
An officer responded to a Highland residential area on a report of a reckless driver. The officer obtained a description of the vehicle and conducted a thorough check of the area, but was unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Contact was made with the complainant and a report filed on the incident.
 
Officers responded on five animal control calls on this date in Highland. Each incident was handled accordingly with no further serious issues or concerns resulting. Reports were filed on all incidents.

Officers responded to a Highland address on a non injury traffic accident. All information and evidence was gathered, and a traffic accident investigation was conducted. A report was then filed on the incident.
 
Officers responded to a Highland address on a report of a female trying to harm herself and being suicidal. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the female and her mother. Officers worked with DCFS and the foster parents and arranged a mental evaluation at a local hospital. The Female willingly went with her mother who transported her to the evaluation. Officers cleared and filed a report on the incident.
 
An officer responded to Timberline Middle School on a report of two thefts from two different students. Student's property had been stolen from their lockers over the last few weeks. The officer gathered all available information and evidence, and filed a report on the incidents.
 
Wednesday 03/21/2012
 
While on patrol in the early morning hours an officer located a business that had an open door. The officer made contact with the business manager and assured everything was ok. The manager thanked the officer for his assistance and secured the business.
 
An officer affected a traffic stop on a vehicle in Alpine for a traffic violation. Upon meeting with the driver and conducting records check the officer found the vehicle operator's driver's license was suspended. The officer issued the driver a citation on the above mentioned violation and documented the incident.
 
An officer responded to an Alpine address on a delayed report of a stolen vehicle. The officer met with the complainant who advised the vehicle had been taken in the last few weeks and just now found it missing. The officer gathered all available information and evidence and began an initial investigation. This case is ongoing and currently under investigation.

An officer stopped to check on a suspicious person at Highland Glen Park in Highland. The officer immediately smelled what appeared to be a marijuana scent coming from the suspects vehicle. The investigation continued and officers recovered marijuana from the driver and also found he had active warrants for his arrest. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Utah County Jail.

An officer affected a traffic stop on a vehicle in Highland for a traffic violation. Upon meeting with the driver and conducting records check the officer found the vehicle driver has several active arrest warrants out of Alpine Justice Court. The officer placed the male into custody and transported him to the Utah County Jail.

Officers responded on two animal control calls on this date. One  in Highland, and one in Alpine. Each incident was handled accordingly with no further serious issues or concerns resulting. Reports were filed on all incidents.
 
An officer responded to an Alpine residential area on a report of a suspicious person in the neighborhood. The officer obtained a description of the person and vehicle and conducted a thorough check of the area. The officer located the vehicle and found it was merely a parent picking up their children. Contact was made with the complainant and a report filed on the incident.

Saturday 03/24/2012
K9 units were called to assist a home owner on a search of their home concerning some possible drug abuse taking place by one of their older children. A consensual search was conducted of the home by Police Service Dog Ringo. Several stolen items were recovered along with some controlled substances. The juvenile responsible for the stolen items and controlled substance was arrested and transported to Slate Canyon Detention Center.
 
Officers responded to an Alpine address on a non injury traffic accident. All information and evidence was gathered, and a traffic accident investigation was conducted. A report was then filed on the incident.
 
An Officer responded to a Highland address on a report of two stolen bicycles. The officer met with the complainant and gathered all available information and evidence. The officer then filed a report on the incident and began a follow up investigation trying to locate them.

An officer responded to an Alpine residential area on a report of a suspicious persons walking in the neighborhood. The officer obtained a description of the persons and conducted a thorough check of the area, but was unable to locate the suspect. Contact was made with the complainant and a report filed on the incident.
 
Officers responded to a Highland address on a non injury traffic accident. All information and evidence was gathered, and a traffic accident investigation was conducted. A report was then filed on the incident.
 
Officers were dispatched on business alarm in Highland. Upon his arrival the officer made contact with the alarm companies and found the business to be secure. The officers cleared without further incident.

An officer was called to a Highland residence on a call of a vehicle that had been broken into over night. The officer then gathered all available information and filed a report on the incident.
 
An officer responded to a Highland residential area on a report of a reckless driver. The officer obtained a description of the vehicle and conducted a thorough check of the area, but was unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Contact was made with the complainant and a report filed on the incident.
 
Officers responded on a medical call in Alpine. Officers arrived on scene and provided medical aid until fire personal arrived on scene, then assisted as needed until the Fire Department cleared.

Officers responded to a Highland address on a non injury traffic accident. All information and evidence was gathered, and a traffic accident investigation was conducted. A report was then filed on the incident.
 
K9 units were called to assist the School resource officer at Mountain Ridge Junior High School. K9's Harras and Ringo conducted checks of the building and lockers within. The K9 units did indicate on some lockers located in a locker room at the school. A subsequent search of the lockers found clothing that had the distinct smell of marijuana on them. The school Resource Officer is further investigating this incident.
 
Officers responded to a Highland address on a non injury traffic accident. Upon arriving officers found one of the vehicles involved in the accident had left the scene. All information and evidence was gathered, and a traffic accident investigation was conducted. A report was then filed on this incident which is currently under investigation.

An officer affected a traffic stop on a vehicle in Highland for a traffic violation. Upon meeting with the driver and conducting records check the officer found the vehicle operator's driver's license was denied. The officer issued the driver a citation on the above mentioned violation and documented the incident.
 
Officers responded to a residence in Highland on a report of a field fire near a home. An officer responded and assisted until fire personnel arrived on scene. The officer assisted fire personnel as needed until the fire was extinguished and all units cleared.
 
Officers took a report from Orem Police in regards to a rape that had initially been reported to them that was later discovered to have occurred in Highland. All information and evidence was gathered, and an investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Officers responded on three animal control calls on this date. One in Alpine and two in Highland. Each incident was handled accordingly with no further serious issues or concerns resulting. Reports were filed on all incidents.
 
Officers were dispatched to a Highland address on a family fight call in progress. Upon their arrival officers conducted an investigation and were able to determine that the argument was between a daughter and her parents, and it had only been verbal with no criminal violation occurring. Officers calmed the situation, and all information was gathered, and a report filed on the incident.

Friday 03/16/2012
K9 units were called to assist an officer on a traffic stop in Pleasant Grove. The initial officer had indicators and reason to believe there may be illegal substances in the vehicle he had stopped. Police Service Dog Ringo conducted a sniff of the car and positively indicated on the vehicle confirming the initial officer's suspicions. The vehicle was searched by officers, and items of drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
 
An officer affected a traffic stop in Alpine on a vehicle for committing several traffic violations. Upon making contact with the driver the officer immediately recognized factors indicating the driver and passengers were possibly under the influence of alcohol. The officer performed field sobriety tests on the driver and confirmed he had not been drinking. The remaining passengers were all under age and were also checked. Officers determined the remaining two juvenile passengers had been consuming alcohol. One juvenile was transported to the Hospital due to his dangerous alcohol levels, and the second issued a citation and released to his parents.

An officer affected a traffic stop on a vehicle in Alpine for a traffic violation. Upon meeting with the driver and conducting records check the officer found the vehicle operator's driver's license was suspended. While investigating the officer also witnessed and located items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The officer issued the driver a citation on the above mentioned violations and documented the incident.
 
An officer affected a traffic stop on a vehicle in Highland for a non moving violation. Upon meeting with the driver and conducting records check the officer found the vehicle had no insurance. The officer issued the driver a citation on the above mentioned violation and documented the incident.
 
Officers were dispatched on an alarm at Ridgeline Elementary. Upon their arrival the officers made contact with the alarm company and found the school to be secure. The officers cleared without further incident.

An officer responded to an Alpine residential area on a report of a suspicious persons walking in the neighborhood. The officer obtained a description of the persons and conducted a thorough check of the area, but was unable to locate the suspect. Contact was made with the complainant and a report filed on the incident.
 
Officers responded to the mouth of American Fork Canyon on a traffic accident with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and provided medical assistance until Fire personnel arrived. At that time officers assisted by providing traffic control and gathering all information and evidence while a traffic accident investigation was conducted by the American Fork Police department.
 
An officer responded to an Alpine residential area on a report of a suspicious letter left on a citizen's door step. The officer obtained all available evidence and information and began an initial investigation. Extra patrols were scheduled for the area, and a report filed on the incident.

Officers responded on a medical call in Alpine where a child was having a seizure. Officers provided medical aid until fire personal arrived on scene, then assisted as needed until the Fire Department cleared.

Police Service Dog Harras conducted a sniff of the car and positively indicated on the vehicle confirming the initial officer's suspicions. The vehicle was searched by officers, and items of drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was arrested on numerous charges and booked into the Utah County Jail charges.

Upon their arrival officers conducted an investigation and were able to determine that a physical assault had occurred between cohabitants. All information and evidence was gathered, and the suspect was arrested and transported and booked into detention on multiple charges.
 
An officer was called to an Alpine residence on a call of a vehicle that had been broken into. The officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant who advised his vehicle which he had left unlocked had several items taken out of t during the night. The officer assisted the complainant with assuring all her credit cards etc had been cancelled and information filed with the appropriate financial institutions. The officer then gathered all available information and filed a report on the incident.
